Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous changes echo through the darkness." The plot features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
