Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

American entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a announcement.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific Television Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted online.

Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
