Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients

Legal authorities report that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
