Netflix Casts Perfect Performer for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. The role possesses the power to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and animated series.
Escola is joined by a number of fresh additions set to bring the group to reality, including chief the main antagonist, played by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. With season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this represents a major departure in the timing of their first appearance, one that could signal additional alterations to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
