The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential video game developer passed away following his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts said.
